Joe Gresh is an avid adventure motorcycle enthusiast who is the husband of a client. He lives in the Florida Keys when he is not out crossing a continent by motorbike. He has taken several brave solo journeys and has covered a good portion of the TAT trail including the entire length that we will be travelling. Joe's a published writer as well and his off-beat funny and very insightful write-ups have appeared in several publications including this one in Motorcyclist.
Joe was kind enough to have breakfast with me recently at the old Sugar Loaf lodge at mm 17. The conversation was great...breakfast ...um, not recommended.
Joe looked over my bike and made several key comments:
A) Don't even think of taking the hard bags
B) Get the best knobbies you can
C) Take a bit of extra gas
D) Stay out of deep mud
Other than this "I'm good to go". Green Light. Im out of here !
Joe will be doing the East portion of the TAT in Oct. with a bunch of guys on vintage 2 stroke enduros in the 250cc range. Sounds like a blast !
